I have a letters from Santa business where parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc go on my website and can order a letter to the kid(s) in their life that is personalized to each child from Santa Claus and postmarked from the North Pole. I have the back end of my business completely in order; however I need some free or inexpensive ways to advertise this business. I will be utilizing press releases as I am teaming up with a charity and donating $1 from each of my letters to that charity. This will give me a little more newsworthiness with the press releases. My main target is women. Ad rates in women’s magazines are outrageous. Even my local newspapers and community publications seem to want an arm and leg for even for the smaller ads. I don’t have to focus locally as my service is available nationally in the U.S. I need ideas for online and offline marketing that will not break the bank! I really want to saturate with advertising the five weeks after thanksgiving. HELP!

I’m in quite a predicament. I’m very creative and I’m very interested in advertising, but I also love teaching someone something new (that’s why I like Answers). I would love to teach, but it’s a hard job with low pay and few benefits. Advertising would be higher pay, but it’s a difficult buissness and I’m not sure if I like the “office-cubicl” kind of environment. What should I go into and why?

I work with a great company that is a BBB member and a member of the US Chamber of Commerce, not one of these get rich quick things. It seems like all of the places to advertise are filled with so many get rich quick scams. The sort of people who are interested in that are not the people I am seeking, but people who are motivated and actually willing to work. I would love to hear some good suggestions if anybody has any. Yes, I know about Monster.com and I have advertised there. Fresh ideas would be awsome and much appreciated. I won’t mention the company as I don’t want to get accused of illegal advertising.
